Dawn Shelton-Williams has been an active member of the National Black Child Development Institute since 1995. Since joining the BCDI - Milwaukee Affiliate board of directors in 1999, she has held many officer positions; presently she serves as Vice-President. Ms. Shelton-Williams is the Manager of Community-Based Services at Aurora Family Service, in the Aurora Health Care System. She manages several of the agency’s Family Support In-Home services and oversees the agency’s continuous quality improvement activities. Ms. Shelton - Williams is a National Peer Reviewer for the Council on Accreditation and Healthy Families America. Her professional experience and expertise are in the areas of mental health, health care, and child welfare. Ms Shelton-Williams is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the State of Wisconsin. She has been serving children and families for 23 years. She was honored at the Milwaukee Times 28th Black Excellence Awards in 2013 for her role as Child and Youth Advocate in the community. She is actively involved in several community organizations including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; NASW-WI Board; and the American Heart Association Health Equity Council – Milwaukee.
